About Sally

Hi, I’m Sally — the founder, director, and speech pathologist behind Neurodiverse Affirming Speech Pathology. I started this practice to provide a safe, respectful, and empowering space for neurodivergent individuals and their families to thrive and reach their full potential.

I believe that everyone communicates differently, and all forms of communication are valid. My approach is holistic, person-centred, and neurodiversity-affirming, grounded in care, connection, and a deep respect for lived experience. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” communication but about supporting each individual to connect, express themselves authentically, and thrive in their own unique way.

  • My passion for neurodiversity-affirming practice is deeply personal. I have lived experience within my own neurodiverse family, and this continues to shape who I am as a therapist, a parent, and an individual. It provides me with a unique lens through which I view communication that respects difference, values authenticity, and challenges outdated, deficit-based models.

I understand how important it is to be truly seen, heard, and understood, and I bring that awareness into every session.

  • I’m a qualified Speech Pathologist with a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and a commitment to lifelong learning. I have worked across a range of settings supporting neurodivergent children, adolescents, and adults. As a speech pathologist, I contribute to autism diagnosis by providing a detailed assessment of social communication, including how individuals understand, use, and respond to language in everyday interactions. I actively participate in professional development and stay up to date with current research, enabling me to provide high-quality speech pathology services.

  • Sounds-Write (systematic synthetic phonics approach to literacy)

LAMP Words for Life (language acquisition through motor planning)

The Ultimate Play-Based Speech Therapy Course (incorporates neurodiversity-affirming strategies for embedding play and connection into therapy)

  • My clinical interests include:

Supporting neurodivergent children, teens, and adults

    Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

    Social communication assessment and therapy

Collaborative, functional and meaningful goal setting

    Collaborative, strengths-based therapy

Above all, I value relationships — building genuine, trusting connections with clients and families is at the core of what I do.

  • When you work with me, you can expect:

A warm, respectful, and collaborative environment

A therapist who listens and provides personalised support

A focus on meaningful communication goals that reflect individual strengths, needs, and values

A practice that affirms and celebrates neurodivergent identities

  • Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being in nature, and enjoying the simple joys of life.
